Why are the words we use so important? It seems like words surrounding gender are becoming a bigger and hotter topic these days. Language itself is gendered in many societies. Using a person's accurate/preferred pronouns is tantamount to showing them basic human respect. Let's talk about the options we have, and how we can get better at using them.

Abbie is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern practicing psychotherapy in an intimate private practice in Largo, FL. Their primary therapeutic focus is serving and supporting local transgender, genderqueer, non-binary, and gender diverse individuals. They proudly serve the LGBQIAP+ community, consensually non-monogamous adults, and those who practice BDSM/kink. Their particular areas of interest include gender-affirming care, grief/loss, trauma, shame, anxiety, and depression.
Abbie is a proud member of the LGBTQIAP+ community. They are a Humanist Celebrant (secular/non-religious clergy). They enjoy kayaking, going to the beach and reading action thriller fiction novels. They live in Largo with their partner and 2 dogs.
