Rasicm

Okay folks. This is a hard one. I'm a white woman. My understanding of subjugation and hate is only one imposed upon my gender, not the privilege extended to me because of the color of my skin.

But I understand this. As white people, we live in a country that was created on the backs of black people. We live in a system that has created racism in it's very bones. We claim that diversity is key to our country, unless you are black. If you're black, you're seen as less than. You're seen as inferior.

So my point is this folks, as white people, today is not about you and your feelings. Today is tapping into your empathy, standing with your black friends, family, and neighbors. And it's your job as white people to tear down the institutions that keep black people down.

I stand with George Floyd. I stand with black people. And I'm fighting for them, so they can enjoy the privilege I do, because it's the right thing to do.
